Here is a Video that was made by the Winston Fly Rod Company. It shows a trip of a lifetime for a young boy with his father to the Alaskan wilderness and their visit to the Goodnews River Lodge to fish for King Salmon, Sockeye Salmon, Rainbow Trout and Grayling. Written and narrated by the son, this Video won the "Best Documentary Short 2010"  award at The Alaska International Film Festival. Goodnews River Lodge on TV with Trev Gowdy

The Goodnews River Lodge was fortunate to have Trevor Gowdy and his film crew visit the Lodge in July 2011. While they were there, they produced 2 shows, one for his popular TV show, "Monster Fish" and another for  his show "Quest for the One". You just won't believe the size of the King Salmon he tangles with. And, his fishing companion, son TC, shows Dad how it's done as he boats fish almost as big as he is. Is there a better way to share an outdoor experience?

Permit Fishing with Owner Mike Gorton and Trev Gowdy

When he's not hosting guests at the Goodnews River Lodge, owner Mike Gorton guides clients on the flats of the Lower Florida Keys, fishing for Tarpon, Bonefish and the elusive Permit from his custom 23' Stealth Canoe". Trev Gowdy joined Mike in April 2011 for a chance at  a monster Permit, the toughest of the big 3 flats fish to catch. Watch Mike and Trev spend their days hunting this prized target, and finally succeeding.
